"Teaching Martial Arts is, without a doubt, one of the most rewarding jobs in the world.
Passing on my knowledge and passion to others every time I go to work.
I have been training for over 15 years and I still enjoy it as much as my first week!
I have competed at a high level with several ring fights and cage fights under my belt.
I believe finding the right Martial Arts club is a very personal choice. Kong is a family run club, by enthusiastic Instructors who will help you achieve your goals, whatever they are"

"I realised I loved helping others in my first month and joined the coaching team straight away.
My passion lays in perfection. Whether thats my kicks, or fitness, I pride myself in knowing I've tried my best.
I strongly believe I mirror this in my teaching. I make it my personal goal to help you every step of the way on your journey training.
I enjoy being a role model for our younger students. Kids of today don't always have great role models to look up to and I feel this is one of the many perks of the job "
ANGELO DUARTE
BJJ Black Belt
:
"I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) in 2011, looking for a martial art that could help me in grappling situations, and against larger opponents. I had seen how effective BJJ had been in MMA, gave it a try and was hooked immediately.
After 11 years training and competing, I was promoted to Black Belt by my instructor André Pimenta, Carlson Gracie Team, in 2022.
I enjoy sharing what I've learned and helping people realise the benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu."
Lineage: Carlos Gracie > Carlson Gracie > Carlson Gracie Jr > André Pimenta > Angelo Duarte

"I truly believe having martial arts as a foundation in anyones life, will only have a positive effect.
My aim is to help students believe in themselves and achieve any goals they have set in life and the martial arts.
There is no greater privilege than being able to help people become the best they can be.
Focus, respect, hardworking and dedication are just a few things needed on our journey. Oh and a love for Burpees!
I cannot wait to welcome you to our Kong family!"
Keith
Ellis
MMA coach
"Over the past 13 years I have been training and competing in professional mixed martial arts (MMA), boxing, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and freestyle wrestling.
During this time I have been fortunate to train with some of the best martial artists around, including current and previous UFC/Bellator fighters. I have also spent time in Thailand to train with Team AKA coached by former UFC fighter Mick Stick and coach Javier Mendes.
I have over 10 professional MMA fights whilst being very active as a boxing Prize fighter, I also took the gold medal at the 2018 WAKO kickboxing championships.
I am a long time member of Carlson Gracie BJJ, competing in both Gi and No Gi and now spread my knowledge within my coaching.
I currently hold a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under coach André Pimenta and have recently fought on sub only shows, taking Silver in the English Open (Gi) and Gold at the London All Stars Elite Division (No Gi) "

"Really pleased to be joining the Kong coaching team, I'm a Carlson Gracie first degree Black Belt under André Pimenta.
Through my journey I've competed extensively across the UK and internationally. As well as being a great martial art and self defence tool, BJJ is excellent at enhancing resilience, well being and problem solving skills under pressure.
I believe Jiu Jitsu is a great way to enhance all lives. I developed the Grapplegang BJJ project in Croydon to divert young people away from crime and offer better life choices. A philosophy I carry forward with my continued youth work."

"I have been teaching alongside Sarah for several years now and have enjoyed every second.
The team down at Kong is incredible and I love being a part of the family.
I have a busy life - like most. And living over 200 miles away in Wales doesnt maake it any easier to get down. But you'll catch me once week a month at Kong, enjoying every minute I'm there.
Trying to better my teaching and personal ability.
I truly enjoy helping people push their comfort zones, and learning where their limits are.
Achieving my blackbelt was the hardest and most rewarding thing I've ever done. I am grateful for every instructor that helped me along the way.
I want to help you during your journey."
