For us, a very exciting milestone.
For you, potentially, a very nerve racking experience.
But it doesn't have to be....
Firstly, Let's take a look at the difference between a white belt and a black belt.
In my opinion, a black belt is just someone who never quit.
The belt around your waist doesn't matter. You will still fight the same.
I could wear a white belt, and still kick you in the head. It's just coloured cotton.
Secondly, gradings are not compulsory.
If you're not ready, don't sit it!
Martial Arts is about the journey. Not the goal.
Stop thinking short term and look at the bigger picture.
But remember - If you don't take part, you can't possibly pass.
Finally, look at what it takes to fail your grading
The only time you'll fail, is when you don't try again.
Failing is not "not getting your belt"
Failing is not "not kicking high enough"
Failing is not "not breaking the board"
Failing is simply - Quitting.
Quitters never win!
