At Kong Martial Arts, we believe martial arts is about more than just kicks and punches—it's about buildin a strong community, and having a positive impact in the world around us.
Thats why we run our fundrasiing charity months. Spirit doesn't just stay on the mat. It shines through in everything we do.
June 2024: Our Biggest Charity Month Yet
This past June, our students, families, and community came together like never before—and helped us raise over £12,000 for Dementia UK, the most we’ve ever raised in a single month!
Highlights included:
A sealed-bid auction for a lifetime membership at Kong—a once-in-a-lifetime prize for a great cause.
A grueling but inspiring 24-hour Spar & Roll-athon, where students and coaches kept moving around the clock.
Our amazing kids’ initiatives, like readathons, skipathons, and individual fundraising challenges.
One dedicated student ran 250km!
A team of students also took on the challenge of climbing Snowdon—showing that determination on the mats translates to the mountains too.
It was a huge team effort, and every single pound raised went to support families facing the daily challenges of dementia.
A History of Hearts
Charity is a big part of who we are at Kong, and June wasn’t the first time we’ve rallied for a cause.
In October 2019, we turned the club pink to raise money for Breast Cancer UK. From pink belts to a community raffle, the club was filled with great ideas for charity.
In October 2022, we supported the British Heart Foundation, raising funds through custom charity t-shirts and a prize filled raffle event.
These months aren’t just about raising money—they’re about teaching our students the value of our community, and the power of coming together to make a difference.
More Than Martial Arts
Whether it’s through charity work, physical challenges, or simply helping each other grow, what we do at Kong Martial Arts goes far beyond training. We’re building a generation of respectful, resilient, and responsible people—on and off the mats.
To everyone who’s taken part, donated, cheered us on, or shared our mission: thank you. We couldn’t do this without you.
We can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together next!
