🥋 2nd Dan Black Belt Grading Interview

Name: Logan Prower
Age: 10
Grading for: Black Belt, 2nd Dan
Club: Kong Martial Arts
Date: November 2024
⸻
Q1: Tell us a bit about yourself and why you’re sitting your 2nd Dan.
A: I’m grading for my 2nd Dan because I want to inspire other people at the club. If I pass — and I know I will! — I’ll be the youngest 2nd Dan here, which is really exciting.
⸻
Q2: Why did you start martial arts?
A: I started because I watched my dad train, and I wanted to be like him. I also wanted to learn how to protect myself — for self-defence and emergencies only.
⸻
Q3: What’s been your favourite part of your martial arts journey so far?
A: Getting my black belt at age 10 and being the youngest black belt at the club! I’ve also loved learning all the crazy, mad kicks and making new friends here.
⸻
Q4: What are you doing to prepare for your big day?
A: I’ve been doing my exercises every day to keep my fitness high — plus some fitness workouts and competitions. I’ve been working really hard on my techniques so I have good form for grading. I’ve also done loads of extra training this week, including helping with brown stripe grading and white stripe grading too.
⸻
Q5: Final words — how are you feeling about grading day?
A: I’m feeling super confident that I’m going to get my 2nd Dan. I’m really excited to go for it. Even though it’s going to be tough, I’m definitely going to get through it — no matter what it takes!
